"Children learn best through their everyday experiences with the people they love and trust, and when learning is fun. And the best place for these experiences is outdoors, in the natural world." ~Center for Families, Communities, Schools and Children's Learning
One thing is for sure, Habitat Landscape's owner Nancy Payne certainly agrees with this quote. She spent years working with REAL School Gardens to design and build learning gardens for schools. There is nothing like seeing children, parents, staff and community volunteers come together to turn what is an underused piece of ground beside a school into a living, learning garden for all to enjoy. Children thrive and learn in these outdoor classrooms. Take a look at how the learning garden for Nathan Adams Elementary turned out. We're especially fond of how the school's mascot, an armadillo, was utilized in the garden.
